Product marking and certification

IP (Ingress Protection) classification tells us the product capability to avoid ingress from water or solid objects.

The first number refers to solid objects/ dust and the second to water. Glamox group has laboratories for testing IP classification.

Mainly, higher IP-rating means higher dust and watertightness. Please remember the IP66 -rating which also takes in consideration the protection against heavy seas and high pressure water cleaning. IP67- rating does not give any guarantee that IP66 requirements is met. Technical requirements for electrical devices that earlier have been based on each nations requirements, are today more based on international agreements for more countries.
