LED check-list

LED check-list

Here is the Professional check-list of relevant features of Joyolux LED luminaires.

This  information is of a general nature, and may not necessarily apply to all Joyolux LED luminaires.

In case of specific questions, please check our sales representative.

Subject Explanation
Lifetime LED luminaires
(L70)

The lumen degradation of Joyolux LED luminaires is L70 min. 100 000 hours at 45 degrees unless specified otherwise.

LED lifetime
documentation
LED module and driver lifetimes are documented by measuring the components' Tc point temperature, (the Tc point is a specific point on the component) and compare it to the components' maximum rated temperature. Temperature measurements are performed at Glamox' laboratories and carried out at an ambient temperature of 45 degrees. Heat measurement reports and lifetime calculations are available on demand.

What is the Ta for
Joyolux fixtures?
Joyolux luminaires are tested and approved for an ambient temperature (Ta) of 45 degrees, unless otherwise noted.

What is the lumen output
of the LED luminaire?
Joyolux provides actual lumen output or "lumen out" of all our LED luminaries in the datasheet and on our web site. We advise our customers to carefully note the difference between the light output of the LED module itself and that of the complete luminaire.

What is the colour
temperature?
The colour temperature of Joyolux luminaires is listed in the datasheet/web page.

What is the colour
tolerance?
The colour tolerance of Joyolux luminaires is expressed by a number of MacAdam steps. The more steps, the higher tolerance. An explanation may be found in the LED section of our web site. Most of our luminaires have an initial tolerance of 3 MacAdam steps. This equals +/- 100 K at 3000 kelvin, but this kelvin tolerance increases with higher colour temperature. Other tolerances up to 5 MacAdam steps may occur and is properly marked in the product documentation.

What is the colour stability
over the lifetime?
A small shift in colour over time may be experienced because of changes inside the LED itself. This shift is in most cases not visible, but may in some cases lead to a higher MacAdam tolerance, e.g. from 3 to 4 steps.

What is the Ra? The Ra of most luminaires is > 80. For certain products the Ra may be of other values, and they are always properly marked.

Does the Ra change over
the lifetime of the fixture?
The Ra for Joyolux luminaires is normally listed as a minimum value, i.

Are light technical data available? Yes, via our web site.

Does documentation for photobiological hazard
(e.g. Eye damage) exist?
Yes, all Joyolux LED fixtures comply with EN 62471 - Photobiological safety of lamps and lamp systems. The ENEC and CE marks on our products confirms this compliance.

Is the LED module
replaceable?
Yes, by qualified personnel only, unless specified otherwise in the service manual. LED module replacement is only recommended for positive cost-benefit analyses, since there may be other issues with different light output and loss of driver compatibility with the new module. A selection of our luminaires have completely integrated LED modules.

What is the technology
used for dimming?
There are basically two ways to dim LEDs. 1. linear current reduction where the output current magnitude, and hence the light level, is reduced (also called amplitude modulation).2. PWM (Pulse Width Modulation) where the output current is reduced by chopping the output current. PWM dimming or a mix of amplitude and PWM is preferred by the major LED driver manufacturers.
